🌸 Grace in Stewardship: The Peace of Honoring What You Have
Welcome to Grace in Bloom
If I’m being honest, I never thought I’d be the person writing a blog about faith and finances. My journey has been anything but neat — full of mistakes, slow learning, and hard lessons. I’ve faced debt, wrestled with credit, and had to rebuild more than once. Nothing about my story screams “expert.” And yet, over time, I’ve discovered something important: expertise doesn’t change lives — wisdom does. And wisdom often grows from the very places where we have struggled most.
I grew up in a home where each parent managed money in their own distinct way. My mother lived with open hands — she valued peace, joy, and shared moments, always giving and trusting that more would come. My father was the planner — careful, cautious, even stingy at times. He carried the weight of supporting his wife, five daughters, parents, and extended family. That kind of responsibility shapes a person. It shaped his relationship with money — and ours.
Both of their approaches held wisdom. Together, they taught me that our relationship with money isn’t logical — it’s emotional. It’s shaped by our fears, our values, and the stories we tell ourselves about security, worth, and love.
Over time, I came to see what Scripture reveals so clearly:
Stewardship is about care, not control.
It isn’t about how much we have — it’s about how faithfully we use what God has entrusted to us.
“Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found faithful.” — 1 Corinthians 4:2
🌿 The Heart Behind Grace in Bloom
This space was born from that realization. Faith and finances are not separate — they’re deeply intertwined. Faith gives vision and peace; stewardship gives structure and direction. When the two come together, peace, purpose, and provision begin to grow side by side.
Women — especially women of color — are often left out of financial conversations. To be heard, we’re sometimes told to harden ourselves, to trade softness for strength. But God never asked us to lose our gentleness to gain wisdom.
We can be both — nurturing and strategic, gentle and disciplined, generous and prepared. We can be women who flourish — spiritually, emotionally, and financially.
🌸 Stewardship as Self-Respect
Stewardship, I’ve learned, is a quiet form of self-respect. It’s the way we honor what God has already placed in our hands — our money, time, energy, relationships, and opportunities. It’s how we build peace into our lives and prepare ourselves for growth.
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” — 1 Peter 4:10 (NIV)
And that peace matters. It’s the difference between striving and thriving. Striving keeps us chasing; thriving lets us walk with purpose.
The Proverbs 31 woman “watches over the affairs of her household” and “laughs at the days to come.” Her confidence doesn’t come from chaos — it comes from stewardship. And that same peace is available to us, too.
